I love living near the ocean. Nothing clears my head or helps me center myself more than simply standing on the shore, listening to the waves and inhaling salt air. This image seems particularly suited to the beginning of this new year, as the view is lovely and expansive, but still an empty slate, waiting for something to happen.
Winters in Maine can be challenging, as it gets dark so early in the afternoon, and there are so few hours of daylight. Spring seems far away right now, and some days I struggle to stay positive and active. At this time of year more than any other, it is important to practice extreme self care. It isn’t easy and I don’t always succeed, but I do try. I hope you do, too.
